Congratulations to Snezhanna Medvedovski and Elias Caspari for being named Bloomington Jefferson High School's 2021-2022 ExCEL nominees! They are both DAHS graduates! One female and one male student from Bloomington Jefferson High School can be nominated for this award yearly. Criteria for the ExCEL Award includes: JR in high school, participation in Minnesota State High School League sponsored fine arts and/or athletic activities, demonstration of leadership qualities, volunteerism and academic excellence. Snezhanna Medvedovski participates in gymnastics (captain), track and orchestra at Jefferson. She is also on the “A” honor roll, a member of Pathfinders, student council, and NHS. Snezhanna also spends a great deal of time volunteering at her church. Elias Caspari participates in soccer, show choir, and theater at Jefferson. Dimensions Academy High School Graduation This year we have two cohorts completing our program for the first time! Congratulations to Robbie Holzman  for placing 2nd place in the  American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges (AMATYC) Student Mathematics League competition at Normandale Community College.  Dimensions Academy High School alum Colden Longley  also placed 1st!  Robbie is a sophomore and Colden is a senior at Jefferson High School.  

Congratulations to the Jefferson and Kennedy seniors that would have been honored on Monday night.  We unfortunately were not able to recognize these outstanding seniors because of this pandemic but I wanted to recognize them here.  This year I was on the awards committee at both high schools and I was going to MC the event.  Monday I realized how much I miss my seniors and I really was sad for them that they didn't get this special night.

Bloomington students earn top scores on ACT Published on May 16, 2019 Kennedy High School junior Jordan Thomson and Jefferson High School juniors Ryan Cole, Colden Longley and Christopher Melville earned perfect scores on the ACT. On average, less than one-tenth of one percent of students taking the ACT earn a top score of 36. Thomson participates in cross country, track, Quiz Bowl, climbing club and Ignite Mentorship. He is captain of the math team and earned a Science Olympiad state first place medal. He maintains a 4.27 GPA and is an AP Scholar with Honor. He plans to pursue a career in engineering. Cole plays trumpet in Jefferson’s marching band, pep band and jazz band and participates in Boy Scouts, and B.A.A. baseball and basketball. He plans to study engineering and computer science in college. Longley participates on the math team, Quiz Bowl, cross country, Nordic skiing and track. US News and World Report released their 2019 rankings recently and Jefferson moved into the top 20 in the state! These rankings focus mostly on academics and college readiness. Another item to consider is that US News greatly revised their ranking and data systems, which almost doubled the amount of schools they measured so moving into the top 20 is doubly impressive.  https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/minnesota/rankings
