Want to travel to China with me?

I am really excited to announce that Sara Dahl-Wyland and I are recruiting students to go to China with us the summer of 2020.  We think this trip will be a great opportunity for our AP Human Geography, AP World History, and AP Comparative Politics students to apply what they have learned to modern China!  The trip will be 12 days and we would go to Bejing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Dujiangyan, and Shanghai.  The trip has some cool features like a visit to a panda research center and getting to see the Great Wall of China.  Sara and I will be hosting info sessions at both high schools to talk about the trip.  Feel free to come to either one.  Tuesday Sept 17th @ 6:30 pm @ KHS Media Center Thursday Sept 19th @ 6:30 pm @ JHS Media Center

First week of college!

We are having a great week at NCC!  These 9th graders are already learning in their college classes (College Algebra and Intro to Computer Programming).  Next week they will start 9th grade at KHSand JHS!  We wish them the best of luck as they start this exciting academic year!

Dimensions Academy STEM started today

Our 10th graders took time today to talk to the incoming 9th graders about how to succeed in this rigorous program.

AP Boot Camp at KHS

Today Ms. Cruz and I finished up AP Boot Camp at Kennedy.  We had over 40 students work with us for 4 days on study skills, time management, note taking, and pre-reading strategies.  Some of these students I'll be teaching in the fall!  I'm excited to see what these students can do this year!

Gearing up for Fall

I'm gearing up for the fall and for working with students the next couple of weeks on study skills both at KHS' upcoming AP Boot Camp and DAHS orientation.  https://www.edutopia.org/article/study-strategies-beyond-memorization?utm_source=Edutopia+Newsletter&utm_campaign=177ffcde0c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_080719_enews_whyattendance&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f72e8cc8c4-177ffcde0c-83435023
